Hon. Lynda Tabuya was elected to Parliament in the 2018 general elections as a SODELPA candidate, serving as Opposition Whip. She was the highest-polling woman and the fifth highest overall candidate in that election. Re-elected in 2022, she was appointed Minister for Women, Children, and Poverty Alleviation on 24 December 2022 in the PAP/NFP/SODELPA Coalition Government.

Before her political career, Hon. Tabuya was a Lecturer of Law at the University of the South Pacific. She holds a Bachelor of Laws from Bond University in Australia and a Master of Laws from Washington University in St. Louis, USA.

Tabuya is currently a member of the People’s Alliance.
