Hon. Sashi Kiran

Hon Sashi Kiran is a Fijian politician, social entrepreneur and activist, who was elected to the Fiji Parliament for the first time in December 2022, a member of the National Federation Party. She was appointed Assistant Minister of Woman, Children and Poverty Alleviation in the PAP/NFP/SODELPA Coalition Government. She is the founder and former director of a non-profit community organisation known as Foundation for Rural Integrated Enterprises and Development (FRIEND) in Fiji. In 2015 she was appointed a member of Fiji's Human Rights and Anti-Discrimination Commission.  In August 2024, she was appointed to lead the steering committee for the Fiji Truth and Reconciliation Commission. Following the dismissal of Lynda Tabuya in December 2024, Kiran was sworn in as Minister of Woman, Children and Poverty Alleviation.
